Hidden Suffrage, Art and Undercliffe

Join Undercliffe’s Artist in Residence Debbie Sharp  for a day of exploration at Undercliffe Cemetery.

To mark the end of her residency, Debbie will be giving a short talk about her experience of being the very first artist in resident at the cemetery. .

Debbie has been keen to spotlight the inspirational and extraordinary lives of the ordinary women who made a difference.

There  will be an opportunity to learn  the histories and the stories of women,  largely forgotten, that have been uncovered and are waiting an audience

Influenced and informed by the Women’s Suffrage movement Debbie has been exploring the voices that were never heard and giving them a new resonance.

Across the 26 acre site you can discover art -works that she has developed in response to the environment and the people during her residency. As dusk falls the day will conclude with a new live performance of sound and light. All welcome

Saturday November  24th 2.00pm till Dusk.

Keep up to date with the project at the artists website https://www.debbie-sharp.com #hiddensuffrage

The artist residency and the project Hidden Suffrage is kindly supported by Arts Council National Lottery Project Grant, Undercliffe Cemetery and Cartwright Hall.
