Tour: Victorian Mayors and Lord Mayors of Bradford
Saturday 2nd October 2021
The Mayors of Bradford played an important role in the development of Bradford during the Victorian period. Many were successful businessmen who found their way into politics, some becoming Councillors, Aldermen and Mayors and others became MPs
Undercliffe Cemetery is the final resting place of more than twenty Mayors of Bradford so there is no shortage of material when conducting a tour of the cemetery. We have the first Mayor, Robert Milligan, and the first Lord Mayor, John Arthur Godwin. We have selected four more Mayors who in our view have some of the most interesting stories.
Tour Guides: David Broomfield, Stuart Firth, Deborah Stirling and Steve Lightfoot
Tour starts at 11 am and lasts for around 90 minutes.
Coffee tea and cake served from 10:30 am
